DESCRIPTION
The Legislative Assembly of Hyderabad is an impressive building situated adjacent to the Public Garden. It was built out of funds raised by citizens of Old Hyderabad State, on the occasion of the 40th birthday of Nizam Mehboob Ali Khan in 1905.
Completed in 1913, it initially functioned as the Town Hall. The architecture is a synthesis of Rajasthani and Persian styles, with an all-white, aesthetic look. A massive statue of Mahatma Gandhi in a sitting posture is erected at the entrance park to the Assembly.
New additions have been made of late to accommodate the legislative offices of Ministers and political parties.
