DESCRIPTION
This is the world's longest dining table in the Falaknuma Palace. The length of the table is 108 feet, and the breadth is 5.7 feet, while the height is 2.7 feet. The table seats 101 guests. The hall's walls are painted with melting gold and feature 28 paintings, depicting various food items. The Nizam, it is said, used to point to the items he wanted to eat, which were then served to him.
The chairs are made of green leather and are identical, except for the chair which the Nizam used.
The Falaknuma Palace was built during Nizam's era by Prime Minister Nawab Viqarul Umra in 1893. All the crockery and cutlery used to serve dinner were made of gold and silver. Dignitaries from different countries have dined at this table.
The unique feature of the hall is that the person sitting on one end of the table can easily hear the person sitting on the other side of the table without a mike.
